I’m a wife, a mom, and a hip hop dancer trapped in the body of a lawyer. I’m rapidly approaching middle age so maybe I’m getting more reflective, and maybe I just really wanted to be one of the cool kids who has her own blog.
So anywho, one of the things I’ve been reflecting on recently is the fact that we all wander into pockets of our own ignorance from time to time. When my husband wanders into one of his, I’ll gently (or not so gently) point it out and his response is, invariably: “I missed the memo.” This is shorthand for not being in the right place at the right time to learn this lesson, or maybe not paying attention. Or maybe it’s a case of a teacher appearing when the student is ready. Life is weird and funny and full of teachers, isn’t it?
When you realize you’ve missed a memo, it can be pretty hilarious. Or it can turn your life upside down. In any event, we’ve all missed many memos, so this blog represents my musings on my missed memos. I’ll look forward to hearing all about yours.
